Before and after: how life changes with Smart Home

We think of our home most of all when something annoys us. When the floor is cold under our bare feet and you have to wait for it to warm up. When the lamp key is never where the hand is looking for it. When you have to get off the couch just the moment you finally settle down. When you have to wait for a courier or a cleaner before leaving.
The house is silent somewhere in the background, and we take that for granted.
But there is another normal. So let's tell you about a very ordinary day - twice. Once, as you live it now. And once, as it might seem through the prism of the presence of a smart home and building automation.
Scene “Good Morning”
Before. It's morning. The room is still dark, you get up to pull the curtain. You go through all the rooms for the morning light to come in. You're in a hurry, even before the day starts.
After. With one button next to the bed, the curtains open into the room. Your favorite music goes quietly in the bathroom. The presence sensor detects you and turns on a dim light in the bathroom before you wash your eyes. The weather station outside gave the command to open the curtains in the living room even before you entered the room.
This is a “Good Morning” scene - a command that the system executes on its own, while you just open your eyes.
Scene “Goodbye”
Before. You're already in the car when that feeling comes. Did I turn off the iron? Did I turn off the lights in the bedroom? Have I locked up at all? Return. Verification. Delay.
After. When you exit, you touch a button on the KNX keypad and activate the “Goodbye” scene. The lights go out, the heating drops a degree so as not to warm an empty home, the alarm is activated. You go, and peace of mind goes with you. All day, the house stays tidy behind your back, without thinking about it.
Scene “Welcome”
Before. Dark and cold corridor. You're looking for the light switch with your hands full and a heavy shopping bag.
After. The house knows you're coming home. A warm light greets you even before you cross the threshold, the temperature is just how you love it.
Because at home it should not start with effort. It should start with relief.
An evening that is only yours
Before. Three remotes on the table. The light is too bright for a movie, but getting up to dim it spoils the moment.
After. “Cinema evening”. One touch. The light decreased to a warm twilight, the curtains lowered, the picture came to life - all at once.
Lighting and multimedia speak the same language through Control4, so you don't set up five things separately. You set a mood.
Scene “Good Night”
Before. The tour begins. Lamp by lamp. Is the door locked? Is the stove off? The thermostat? And then you go to bed with that little “did I forget something?”
After. From the bedside table you press the button - scene “Good night”. The lights go out one by one, the doors lock, the temperature drops a few degrees for a more restful sleep. There's nothing to check. There's nothing to worry about.
Scene “Cleaning”
Before. You comply with the time when subcontractors come to clean. You wait for them to clear before you go out to lock in and spend time with the family.
After. You are out at work or with family. Contractors have their own access code. The alarm is disarmed. You receive a notification. The lighting turns on automatically everywhere. Blinds are raised where they were not raised. Upon completion, the home is returned back to the same mode - the alarm is armed, the lighting is turned off, the blinds are returned to their old position.
What actually changes
Before, the home wanted something from you almost all the time - to get up, check, tune in, remember, wait. Now he does it himself and quietly recedes into the background. And when the home ceases to ask for attention, there is still time to live in it.
Behind this impeccability are systems such as KNX and Control4. But they're not the hero of this story - they're the stage workers you never see. Their goal is one: to disappear and work in the long term, leaving only the feeling.
And your “after”?
Return for a moment to the morning of the beginning, but this time in its second version. The soft light. The warm floor. The day that begins with relief, not effort.
This “after” may look exactly as you wish, because no two days are the same and no two homes are the same.
We at Aktakon do just that - we turn the way you want to live into scenes that your home performs on its own.
Your home, you rule!
